Fun Stuff

Entry to the Edinburgh International Book Festival at Charlotte Square Gardens is free for everyone. There is plenty of fun stuff for children to do - for all ages. And there is a lot that is free. The Book Festival's unique family-friendly space is a great place to spend a day or two.

Activity Corner

We've got FREE hands-on activities for children aged up to eleven in our newly created Activity Corner.

Events for babies and under 3s

Enjoyable and engaging (and FREE) half hour sessions of songs and rhymes for babies and children under 3 years form part of the programme.

Daily storytellers for adults and children

FREE storytelling with some of today's most inspirational national and international storytellers take place twice EVERY DAY.

Teenagers

There are many events for teenagers (including older teens) in the programme including creative workshops, debates and hot teen author events.

Buggy/pushchair park

A FREE buggy park may not exactly be fun but it is certainly very useful. We have one on site at the Book Festival to help you enjoy your visit a little more.
