Readers’ First Book Award
What is the award?
Many debut and lesser-known writers who appear at the Book Festival each year go on to forge international careers. Now we are thrilled to offer an award for them which gives you, the reader, the chance to select the winner. Every one of the forty or so debut novels, novellas or short story collections in our 2010 adult programme is eligible for this new award – and that also includes books which have been published for the first time in the UK or translated into English. The book which receives the most votes will be the winner.
We very much hope you will read the books (and got the chance to see some of the events) and then place a vote for your favourite. Everyone who votes for the winning author will be placed into a draw to win a signed copy of every one of the books up for the award.
How do I vote?
Right here on the website – just follow the link and fill in the form provided. You can search for the events featuring Readers’ First Book Award nominees by using the ‘Theme’ drop down menu on the event search.
