Alastair
Bruce ...
Born in Port Elizabeth, Alastair Bruce studied at the University of Cape Town where he went from a science degree to a Masters in English Literature. Moving from Africa to the UK over ten years ago, he now works in electronic publishing. His critically acclaimed debut, Wall of Days, which tells the tale of one man’s attempt to return to civilisation from exile, has been celebrated by André Brink as ‘A riveting and overwhelming story, told by a consummate storyteller who appears well set to become a defining novelist of our time’. The ‘profound’ (Itch) work was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize, Best First Book in the Africa region.
