Gill
Arbuthnott ...
Despite wanting to be a writer since she was 8 years old, Gill Arbuthnott had a long career as a Biology teacher before finally writing her first book for children in 2003. Inspired by the Millennium Clock in the National Museum of Scotland, Chaos Clock is a gripping tale of Kate and David, two eleven year olds caught up in a battle between the Guardians of Time and the Lords of Chaos.
In addition to her works of fiction Gill also writes non-fiction for children and passionately believes that science is fascinating and that books about science should be thrilling. In 2010 she had the Book Festival audience gripped with her interactive adventure into the world of science.
Gill was born and brought up in Edinburgh, where she still lives and works as a teacher and writer. On the subject of writing she says ‘this has got to be the best job in the world…’
