Jenny
Valentine ...
A relative newcomer to writing, Jenny Valentine took the publishing world by storm with her debut novel for teens, Finding Violet Park. The book, which tells the story of a boy who finds an abandoned urn of ashes and goes on to learn about the extraordinary old lady whose remains the urn contains, garnered widespread critical acclaim and won the 2007 Guardian Prize for Children’s Fiction.
Her subsequent titles have also received widespread praise: Broken Soup, published in 2008 was described by the Guardian as a 'joy to read'. In 2009 Jenny was chosen as a World Book Day contributor for which she wrote the short story Ten Stations.
