John
Butler ...
John Butler is a columnist and interviewer for the Irish Times. He has also written and directed award-winning shorts for the Irish Film Board, directed and co-written the TV sketch show Your Bad Self and is developing feature film projects. His writing has appeared in the Dublin Review, the San Francisco Chronicle and on NPR. His debut novel, The Tenderloin, is a ‘bracingly honest, entertaining and sharply well-observed coming of age story’ set in San Francisco during the internet boom. It is ‘a story which could only have been written now, but whose themes, the loss of innocence, the difficulties of embarking on adult life, are universal.' (Read the full Irish Independent review of The Tenderloin here).
