Marcus
Sedgwick ...
Acclaimed writer of teen fiction Marcus Sedgwick worked in children’s publishing and as a bookseller before turning his hand to writing.
His books often address weighty issues such as gun crime and death, and have either won or been shortlisted for over 30 awards including the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize, the Booktrust Teenage Prize and the Costa Children’s Book Award.
In 2010 Marcus delighted Book Festival audiences with tales from the mysterious world of gothic fiction based on his own novels White Crow, and My Swordhand is Singing.
As well as writing full time Marcus teaches creative writing and is author in residence at Bath Spa University. He also illustrates some of his own books.
