In Search of Sanctuary

More than 21 million people worldwide have been forced to seek sanctuary abroad to escape war, persecution, torture or possible death, but most wealthy countries continue to treat refugees as somebody else’s problem. Today we hear writing by refugees, read by Festival authors including Nicola Barker, Rick Gekoski and Marcus Sedgwick.

Vote for Darke by Rick Gekoski, Five Rivers Met on a Wooded Plain by Barney Norris, or Land of Love and Ruins by Oddný Eir in the First Book Award.
