The UK’s longest-running literary prizes are awarded in this prestigious event with broadcaster Sally Magnusson, who hosts a celebration of the year’s best works of fiction and biography. Join us as the Prize judges and University of Edinburgh students share their insights and the nominated authors discuss their books, before the live, much-anticipated announcement of this year’s Prizes.
On the 2022 fiction shortlist is Uschi Gatward with English Magic, Kaitlyn Greenidge with Libertie, Keith Ridgway with A Shock, and Bryan Washington with Memorial. Authors on the biography shortlist are Hanif Abdurraqib with A Little Devil in America: In Praise of Black Performance, Amit Chaudhuri with Finding the Raga: An Improvisation on Indian Music, Maria Stepanova, translated by Sasha Dugdale with In Memory of Memory: A Romance, and Frances Wilson with Burning Man: The Ascent of DH Lawrence.
