Dionne Brand: No Language is Neutral

One of Canada’s most honoured poets visits Edinburgh to discuss Nomenclature: New and Collected Poems, newly issued as a Penguin Modern Classic. Combining the titular new long poem with work from her lauded 40 year career, Brand’s poetry is an incisive exploration of race, sexuality, moral hypocrisies, migration, and exile, executed with spectacular imagination and formal mastery. In conversation with Alycia Pirmohamed.
