Discover the Hidden History of the Meadows with Macastory

Book Festival favourites Macastory are off for a day out on the Meadows and you can join them! A fascinating fun-filled family frolic of stories awaits with plenty of songs, laughter and more as our intrepid storytelling duo Ron and Fergus take you through the incredible history of Edinburgh's most well-known park. Meet Prince Albert Victor and his impressive pavilion, solve a crime with Sleuths Wellpecket and Smythe, battle over Bread and Butter with Green Breeks and his gang, rap along with the fighting footballers, and meet Professor Joe Black, scientist and monster-slayer extraordinaire. And what are all those cows doing here?! This outdoor socially distanced walking tour is suitable for all ages, and is mostly over grassy ground, so please wear suitable shoes. The Meadows is a short stroll from the Book Festival’s site at the Edinburgh College of Art.
