Ghaith Abdul-Ahad & Gordon Corera: The Long Shadow of War

Twenty years ago, the US-led ‘coalition of the willing’ invaded Iraq, leading to the downfall of Sadam Hussain’s government. In the UK, an estimated one million people joined the anti-war protest, questioning the legality and intentions of the invasion. In A Stranger in Your Own City, Ghaith Abdul-Ahad tells the story of Baghdad civilians – a moving account of a place that, even after so long, remains dangerous for those demanding democracy. He's joined by the BBC security correspondent Gordon Corera, whose Radio 4 series Shock and War looks at the legacies of the invasion. Chaired by Allan Little.
