Throughout his life, Gordon Brown has been a passionate campaigner for greater fairness and equality. In a powerful recent article, he wrote that ‘poverty is becoming so entrenched that … too many parents today are facing the impossible daily decision of whether their children go without food, heating, or being clean.’ Today, the former UK prime minister joins us to discuss his latest proposals for improving lives, with Alistair Moffat.
The participants in this event have chosen not to receive a fee or expenses, and while the festival is sponsored, they are not.
