Sun 19 Aug 11:00 - 12:30
Chair of the CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals, Joy Court explores this year's Carnegie winner. Awarded annually to the writer of an outstanding children's book, the Medal was established in 1936 in memory of the Scottish-born philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. A much-emulated Shadowing Scheme is also run in schools for young readers to get involved in the judging process. Expect an open discussion from the start.
