Modern struggles have a long literary history. Malachi McIntosh is a professor of World Literature at Oxford, and his forthcoming book focuses on the community of Caribbean artists who revolutionised Black human rights in Britain. McIntosh is joined by Mark Steven, author of Class War: A Literary History, which traces the development of class in Britain, from Haiti’s plantations to Black Lives Matter, through poetry and novels.
