Take a deep dive into the work of Alice Munroe and John Cheever with writer Mary Gaitskill. Gaitskill herself is the author of three collections of short stories – beginning with Bad Behaviour in 1988 – as well as novels and essays. Gaitskill leads you through two of her favourite stories: Munro’s Vandals, the final story in her collection Open Secrets, and The Five Forty-Eight by John Cheever, which first appeared in the New Yorker in 1954. This is your chance to unpick and discuss work by two of the world’s most celebrated short story writers with a master of the craft.
