Sarah Bernstein & Sophie Mackintosh: Curious Incidents

In any community, a series of unfortunate events can quickly escalate into a moral panic. The narrator of Sarah Bernstein’s Study for Obedience moves to a remote country and, according to suspicious locals, brings with her illness and blight. Based on a true story, Sophie Mackintosh’s Cursed Bread is about a baker’s wife who is bewitched by a charismatic new arrival while strange happenings plague their town. Chaired by Peggy Hughes.
