Stuart Cosgrove: Black Music and the White House

From R&B to hip hop, music has often played a central part in American political life. Following his acclaimed Young Soul Rebels and Detroit 67, journalist and broadcaster Stuart Cosgrove completes his trilogy on Black music and civil rights with Hey America! In today’s event Cosgrove talks to music journalist Fiona Shepherd about the Vietnam War’s influence on soul, Obama’s love of Prince and the rise of Black Lives Matter in opposition to Donald Trump.
