Join two novelists exploring queer British history in intimate and epic ways. Alice Winn’s novel, In Memoriam, takes us to 1914, as a schoolboy love affair spills out of the classroom and into the trenches of the First World War. Forbidden love is also found in Tom Crewe’s historical fiction, The New Life, the story of a closeted gay man on trial for writing about homosexuality in Victorian England. Chaired by Elsa van der Wal.
