Who are we?
An inspiring literary festival, the world's largest public celebration of the written word, right in the heart of Edinburgh: hundreds of author events, debates and workshops packed into 17 extraordinary days each August.
Audio recording of the week: 5 February
Recommended listening for this week is Scottish poet Jackie Kay’s hilarious and life-affirming 2009 Book Festival event. Warm-hearted, witty and wise, Jackie covers a huge variety of her work, referencing Gordon Brown, The Vagina Monologues and Gone With the Wind. A particular highlight is Maw Broon Goes for Colonic Irrigation – definitely one to cheer you up on a grey day!
Our Media Archive houses over 150 event recordings and transcripts, podcast interviews and videos from previous Book Festivals. Do take a dip and see what you can find.
