BBC Radio 4’s new literary programme – Take Four Books – is coming to the Edinburgh International Book Festival. It’s a new programme exploring the creative process of a writer by discussing, not just their new work, but also their inspirations and influences. Join presenter – and Chair of the Edinburgh International Book Festival Board – James Crawford as he talks to the writer Rachel Kushner about her critically acclaimed novel, Creation Lake, and asks her to choose three other books that helped to shape it. Also joining the conversation is writer, Andrew Meehan.

Join Hawkins and BBC presenter James Naughtie at the Edinburgh International Book Festival for a warm and intimate discussion of the writer’s most popular title.

BBC Radio 4’s literary programme Take Four Books returns to the Edinburgh International Book Festival on the 21st of August, this time featuring acclaimed Australian author Melissa Lucashenko.

Join presenter James Crawford - Chair of the Edinburgh International Book Festival Board - as he sits down with Melissa to discuss her novel, Edenglassie, along with the three books that helped inspire its creation. Also joining the conversation is Rodge Glass, writer and academic in Literature and Creative Writing at the University of Strathclyde.
