Year of Stories 2022

EventScotland Year of Stories

Stories are entwined in Scotland’s DNA, and 2022 is Scotland’s Year of Stories, which spotlights, celebrates and promotes the wealth of stories inspired by, written, or created in Scotland. From icons of literature to local tales, the year is encouraging locals and visitors to experience a diversity of voices, take part in events and explore the places, people and cultures connected to all forms of our stories, past and present.

This year Edinburgh International Book Festival champions home-grown talent from well-loved Scottish authors and new ones. In a special project earlier this year we invited people of any age or ability, to submit a story responding to the prompt, ‘On this day’. The stories have painted a unique picture of Scotland today and are published on our On The Road blog for the world to experience, enjoy, and respond to.

Scotland’s Stories Now is supported by EventScotland as part of Scotland’s Year of Stories 2022. The year spotlights, celebrates and promotes the wealth of stories inspired by, written, or created in Scotland. Find out more about Scotland's Year of Stories 2022 and join the conversation online using #YS2022 and #TalesOfScotland.
