A graduate in Politics and History and once a teacher in a girl’s secondary school, British author and Children's Laureate Anne Fine has an award-winning, engaging and intelligent bibliography of books for young readers. Among her compelling works is the famous Madame Doubtfire, adapted into the 1993 film starring Robin Williams, and Flour Babies, the 1992 novel about the moving results of a school Science Fair experiment. Her work has been translated into 27 languages and tends to reflect her interest in political and social issues.
