Ned Beauman
At only 26 years old Ned Beauman has not only written for the Guardian, Financial Times, Dazed & Confused, AnOther, and the Literary Review (to mention a few), but has now penned a devilishly devious and ‘frighteningly assured’ debut novel; Boxer, Beetle. Pete Carty of the Independent observes that ‘Beauman skips with panache between his dreadful version of the present and the macabre absurdities of a period when cock-eyed science and rabid anti-Semitism provided a toxic cocktail for the upper classes.’ (Read Cathy's full review of Boxer, Beetle here). The work has been nominated for the Guardian First Book Award, and Beauman himself has been named as one of the dozen most promising new writers in Britain by John Mullan.
