Sigrid Rausing: An Intertwining of Minds

When celebrated Swedish author Johanna Ekström learned she was dying of cancer, she asked her friend Sigrid Rausing to distil 13 handwritten notebooks into one final published work. The result, And the Walls Became the World All Around, is a sublime, devastating ‘memoir in duet’ between deceased and survivor, a testament to friendship, and a haunting meditation on grief. Today, Rausing discusses her remarkable friend and this profound literary experiment with Caoilinn Hughes.
