An Evening with David Olusoga

David Olusoga is an author, broadcaster, and one of Britain’s best known and well-loved historians. Born in Lagos in Nigeria, Olusoga grew up in Gateshead, where his family were one of very few non-white residents, until racism and attacks from the National Front forced them to leave the area. As a writer, his titles include Black and British: A Forgotten History, and Black History for Every Day of the Year. He has also presented acclaimed BBC series including Britain’s Forgotten Slave Owners, A House Through Time, Our NHS: A Hidden History, and Union with David Olusoga. The chronicler of often overlooked or understudied areas of British history, Olusoga tonight shares the highlights and challenges not just from his impressive career, but his own personal story.
