Becky Manawatu: Family Drama

In 2022, Aotearoa-New Zealand author Becky Manawatu broke through with her international bestselling debut novel, Aue, a multi-perspective exploration of a family’s relationship with violence and grief. Having won the Jann Medlicott Acorn Prize for Fiction, Manawatu continues the story in her powerful sequel Kataraina, and speaks to us today about moving through a past of familial trauma towards the hope presented by a new generation.
