In this energising conversation, we bring together the authors of two fascinating books on Scotland's radical music past. Scotsman Book of the Year winner Carrie Marshall shares Small Town Joy, unpacking how LGBTQ+ artists changed Scotland's soundtrack and celebrating the music that opened minds. Meanwhile, ethnologist and piper Gary West discusses Brave New Music, about the late Martyn Bennett whose blend of tradition and technology created an audacious new sound that was uniquely his own. Chaired by Alistair Braidwood.
