Master storytellers Catherine Chidgey and Laila Lalami have created two chilling new dystopian tales in which dreams are monitored for control and surveillance. Chidgey’s Ishiguro-esque The Book of Guilt centres around triplet boys in a strange children’s home, while Lalami’s Women’s Prize-longlisted The Dream Hotel follows a woman detained at a border crossing because she has been deemed a ‘dangerous dreamer’. The authors chat privacy, freedom, and speculative visions. Chaired by Jane Flett.
