Described by the Scotsman as ‘a master of the page-turning, heart-gripping, plot-driven tale’, Doug Johnstone is also remarkably prolific. Over the years, the McIlvanney Prize-shortlisted author’s focus has shifted from crime to sci-fi, and now he joins us to chat about his 19th novel, The Transcendent Tide, which completes his science fiction Enceladons trilogy: a first contact epic which has taken its characters from Edinburgh’s Portobello beach to the depths of the Arctic Ocean. Chaired by Rachelle Atalla.
