Writing Queer Fiction: A Workshop with Charlie Porter

What does it mean to write queer fiction? It’s more than just the subject matter, the politics, or the social environment within which characters are placed. It’s the structure of the novel itself, and the framework into which the story is written. Join author Charlie Porter (Nova Scotia House) to consider how we can break from heteronormative assumptions of ‘emotional journey’ and avoid the exploitation of characters for the sake of plot, so we can elevate fiction and push somewhere new with words.
