Paper Trails Writer Residencies - Care Homes (Freelance)

Contract: Freelance (Sept-Dec)
Fee: £3,270.00

As part of our ambitious new programme Paper Trails - Edinburgh International Book Festival, in collaboration with Edinburgh Libraries’ Mobile Library Service, is seeking to appoint four writers to deliver five-week creative projects in older people’s residential care homes across Edinburgh. The projects will coincide with and enhance the visits from the libraries team. We want to bring the joy of the Book Festival to people across Edinburgh, who can’t come in person.

We are seeking four writers who have experience of working with older people and who can work in a creative and responsive way to ideas from the Book Festival, participants and key partners. This will involve developing the emerging shape and content of the programme in conversation with the care home staff and mobile library team. Writers will be supported by and give support to two trainee artists.

Information about temporary Festival staff recruitment

We employ many dedicated and enthusiastic temporary staff each year including short-term staff during August and longer term staff from April/May to September. We expect hard work, commitment, an interest in the arts and a positive, enthusiastic attitude. In return you get a fantastic learning experience that is loads of fun and the opportunity to make valuable contacts. Because of the huge number of applications we receive, and the relative shortness of the contracts, relevant experience is a must.
