In early 2026, we ran a special series of free author events hosted in both the library and the theatre at North Edinburgh Arts. Poetry, fantasy, crime, fiction – we had it all covered with a line-up of speakers including Irvine Welsh, Val McDermid, Maisie Chan, and former Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho delivering a special fun-filled event for pupils from Craigroyston Primary. The children attending Maisie and Joseph’s events also received a free signed copy of the book to take home, Going forward, we’ll be working with the community there to co-programme future events, with the next series taking place this autumn.
