Ratho Library

Recent projects at the newly opened Ratho Library have included beautiful series of intergenerational sessions between P7 pupils from Ratho Primary School and older adults from the library’s book and knitting clubs. Here, storyteller Claire McNicol has encouraged the community to embrace the original Gaelic meaning of the word ‘ceilidh’ – more than just a social dance, a ceilidh is a community gathering all about the exchange of stories and songs. Going forward, we’ll work with the library and members of Ratho community, supporting them to create a mini festival of their own.
