Jacqueline Wilson (2011 Event)
Jacqueline Wilson always wanted to be a writer and wrote her first ‘novel’ when she was only 9. Since those early days she’s gone on to write over forty books, won many prestigious awards and created iconic characters such as Tracey Beaker. The novel she talks about in this event, recorded live at the 2011 Edinburgh Internaitonal Book Festival, is her latest, Lily Alone. Billed as an event for 9-14 year olds, it nevertheless drew crowds of all ages including legions of older fans who had grown up reading her wide-ranging work.
