The freedom to write and sell books is fundamental to a democracy, so in these censorious times how best can we disagree without silencing? Here to talk it out robustly are Audition author Katie Kitamura, who's spoken out against Trump's attacks on language; novelist Yiyun Li, who's written about self-censorship in China and online; and bookseller Mahmoud Muna, whose Educational Bookshop in Jerusalem was recently raided by the Israeli Army, accused of 'disrupting order' by selling books and educational material.
