When Russia launched its most recent invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, Ukrainian chef Olia Hercules decided it was finally time to tell her story. Yet her book, Strong Roots, reaches far beyond her own life span. It's by turns a memoir, a family history, a recipe guide, and an ode to Ukraine, brimming with grief and hope. Today she joins Roxani Krystalli to discuss the deep connection between food, resilience, and the idea of home.
