Until his death in a Russian prison last year, Alexei Navalny offered the only meaningful opposition to Vladimir Putin’s leadership. Written by Navalny following a near-fatal poisoning attempt, Patriot is a brave memoir, telling his personal and political story, and emphasising his commitment to the principles of individual freedom, even while risking his own life. Today, Navalny’s widow, Yulia Navalnaya, speaks about her late husband’s powerful book, the uniquely courageous man she loved, and her determination to keep his campaigning and story alive.
